The TSA assessment is designed to evaluate the ability of the candidate to counter judgments, communication skills, attention to detail, and interpret X-ray images quickly and accurately. Understanding each stage, and preparing for it deliberately, is the most important part of succeeding as a TSO applicant.

The Three TSA Assessment Stages

The TSA hiring process includes three main evaluations:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

The CBT evaluates your English abilities, decision-making, and your capacity to identify threats in X-ray scanned images.

Color Vision Test

A short test using Ishihara-style color plates to determine whether you can distinguish colors essential for interpreting X-ray images.

Interview

A structured, scenario-based interview that measures professionalism, situational judgment, teamwork, and conflict-handling skills.
